Lighting help.. Please help!!

First thanks so much for you r comments here.. I have learned so much..

Question.. I have a 30 gallon tank for my 92 year old mother that can hardly see.. I have two 18 inch 15 watt bulbs on er. It is just not lighting it up enough for her.. She stares at this tank four hours a night and loves it.. She gets the biggest kick out of the fish.. Isn't something I can do to light this tank up as bright as it can be.. With out cooking the fish or harming the fish in anyway. Thanks for your thoughts. she such a a lovely lady. ken
ps.. just a simple fresh water tank with like 12 barb in er..
 
Go to ahsupply.com and get help from their tech advisors. I have found them really helpful in recommending the right backfit kit to get what you are after. In my case it was enough light for my latest tanks for low to medium light plants. In your case its more an open desire for maximum lighting for viewing. Whatever your needs, they seem to want to help.
 
Maybe bulbs that are 10,000K. I think they produce a "whiter" light.
 
I'd say just buy a ready to go light, you could go with T5 or PC lights, whichever one you want, just measure the length and look around online.
Length will ultimately determine how much light you can fit on it, but a PC or T5 setup should give you way more light than you have.

You should be careful though, you could wind up with an algae fest.
