ok i have the 2 27 watt screwin compact flo lights, they are 3000k

they look real yellow, and my plants really arnet doing much

so do you think it is worth 20 bucks a pop to get the 6500k ones??

What are you using on the 125 planted tank?? it looks to be doing well! arent the 3000k buls towords one end of the spectrum...I thought plants need red and blue wich are at either end of the spectrum. On my 55gal wich is 18" tall I use 4 50w 6500k bulbs and one 50/50, because I like the color of the blue/10k and my stuff, but ya id think it would be a good idea to get the 6500k bulb because its making up for whats missing in the 3000k bulbs. If you have the money to do it i think regular flourecent tubes are the way to go...youll pay more in the beginning...but the bulbs arent near as expensive to replace $9 for each of my 50w bulbs as compared to $20 for a 27w CF.
