:help:

I just bought a 29g tank (Thanks Petco!) yesterday and I'm in the process of setting up my first planted tank. :headbang2:

My question is about the lighting required to maintain a low light level planted tank. Ideally, I want around 2 wpg. I think that should be sufficient, for now.

Here is what I am looking at getting:

Is that the type of light that I should be getting for a f/w planted tank?

Any help, hints, suggestions and/or criticisms will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jon

i did a DIY project with 2xT12's 5500k temp bulbs 40 watts each for about 40 bucks. looks ugly, but my horn wort has grown at least over 200 inches in a few weeks. i can literally come back in an hr and see a noticeable difference.

Amazing - Do you use Co2? If so, what's your setup?

Actually maybe it's not off topic. Co2 is definitely a determining factor in the type of lighting used. I thought feedback regarding the overall setup mentioned (plants growing 200 inches) would be helpful to the original poster of the thread.

I was kidding!

Sarcasm, sadly, is missed in text.

I appreciate all responses - really! I won't attempt to be funny anymore.
