just wondering if my planes were good for my lighting, in a 55gal

2 VHO blues
2 VHO 10,000K

3 Moon light blue LED

is there anything else i should mabey consider for the same price or very close, i was going to do compact flor but i was told that VHO is better just takes up more room, and i don't have enough money for metal highlite. just wanting suggestions.

PC lights actually give you significantly more lumens (and photosynthetically available radiation) per watt than VHO. Some people like the look of VHO better, and corals do well under them.

I got a Current USA Orbit 48" 4x65W P C lighting setup with Moonled's and a 3" fan all in a pretty sweet mount for under 250 bux from Gina's Aquarium Supply... seemed a pretty good deal and believe me I've spend quite a bit of time looking around. For the money you can't beat a all in 1 deal like this IMHO. It's enough lighting for low - medium watt critters and maybe some hardier high watt stuff too I've been told... pretty much about anything except clams etc. It comes with 2-65watt true actinics 1-420nm 1-460nm, and 2 -65w tropical daylight bulbs 1-10,000k and the other 6,500k and 4 -1 watt bright blue Moon LED's with separate cords and switches so u can setup a 24hour rotation...
