Lighting question

Can someone please explain what Coralife 28 Watt 50/50 Power Compact Lamps are? I am planning a 10-gallon planted tank. I would love to have the PC lmaps in i t (about 28 watts). But I cannot decide what lmaps to put in it. Should I use the one above or a plain 6700k lamp?

Go with a PC fixture and 6700k - 10000k bulbs. I wouldn't do the 50/50 myself as they are for reef tanks and usually have something like 50% 6700k and 50% blue actinic, so not really for freshwater. Search around, I know AH Supply has some great stuff and Big Al's likely has something you could use too.

Thank you. I was looking at a 28 watt PC or a 2x40 watt pc: what do you think? Both were found at Big Al's.

The two by 40 is too much. That'd be 80 watts over ten gallons which is like... twice what high light is. I'd do the 28 watt PC fixture, myself. Oh, and I'm from San Angelo, so it's go Orange Crush, but hey, so long as it isn't Mojo, I'm cool.
