I have a 33 gallon Oceanic tank that has a footprint of 20 " w x 18 " deep . I have been running a Coralife CF Quad 50/50 light at 96 watts along with the NO 15 watt light that came with the tank . I was wanting to replace the NO bulb with a blue actintic bulb to add a bit more pop to the color in my tank as well as for dusk and dawn purposes . My question is .... when looking for a replacement bulb what size bulb do I need ? The NO fixture is 18" and the bulb itself measures 17" . Am I looking for an 18" bulb or a 17" bulb ? And would it be able to support a T-5 bulb ? Thanks in advance to all that reply .

Unfortunately, you couldn't run a T5 HO bulb without completely gutting the fixture and replacing the ballast and endcaps.

The NO bulb should be marked at to what it's length is, but it should be an 18" bulb. When you measured, did you include the pins in your measurement? If not, you should.

Thank you Fsn ....I did not include the pins . I was thinking the same thing about the ballast but thought I would ask before I burned the house down . Again thanks for the insight .
