will 1.5watts/gal be enough to support the following plants?

Green Caboma
Java Fern
Java Moss
Fountain Plant
Wheat Plant
Red Caboma
Wisteria
Red Krinkle Ivy
Elodea Densa

Thanks for any help

PS my Juwel Tank has 2x30W tubes are there any light tubes that i can replace these with and not have to change any other parts of the lighting system?

Several months ago when I put my first aquarium together, PetSmart sold me some Green Cabomba with the assurance that it was very easy to grow and needed nothing special. This was before I knew how to spell A Q U A T I C P L A N T S! I am still poor at spelling, but I know from killing many bunches of Cabomba that this plant needs bright light and does well in low to moderate temps. CO2 would also be helpful. Its my understanding from reading the forum that Cabomba is one of the hardest plants to grow.

What size tank do you have jamjar?

If you only have 1.5 watts a gallon, I suggest you go to wal-mart, or petco, and buy some of those "grow your own plants" with the plant bulbs in them (they look like tiny coconuts). Only the ones that are suitable for your lighting setup will sprout, but take caution, because some the the plants included, such as aponogeton ulvacelvous sp? Get pretty big.

I've had a lot of success with the pack I got from petco (it's about 2x the cost of the ones at wal-mart, but it has more variety in one pack, the ones at walmart only have one kind of plant per pack). I had about 1.6 watts over my 6g, and I got a tiger lotus growing nice and colorful leaves (it has since been moved to a 10g with 2w/g).

Good luck, HTH.
