Lighting suggestions for 75 gallon

standard 75 gallon, no CO2

I just want to keep java fern, java moss, water sprite, amazon sword... stuff like that. nothing fancy

anyone have a suggestion? I plan on doing it when I get my tax return.

I'd go with the first...the Nove Extreem t5 fixture. I think that will give you the most success and the most options should you expand from what you're intentions are now. Planted tanks can do that to a person.

is there a difference between where it says freshwater and saltwater? other than price?

also... is dr. foster the best place to get a light??

Well, yes, there is. For freshwater, the bulbs have a Kelvin rating of in the 6500K range and for the Marine tank, the 20,000K range. Basically, the freshwater fixture will have a yellower caste to the lighting, and the saltwater fixture will have a bluer caste.

Right now Dr.foster and smith is having a HUGE coralife aqualight sell. These are pretty high quality lights. For a planted tank order a freshwater version. You will not find these lights anywhere near what they are selling them for anywhere else currently.

The freshwater version contains a 6700k bulb instead of the 10k/actnic combo of the saltwater.

You may want to consider http://www.ahsupply.com/36-55w.htm. I have not ordered one as of yet but it seems they are rather well liked among these forums. Most all lighting searches I did here turned up this site. Just another option I guess.

if the nove is fine I would rather avoid coralife. My brother had one for his saltwater tank years ago and it gave him problems constantly. probably just an anomaly but still

thanks for the input everyone. still reading, but now I gotta decide whether I want a bigger tank (150) or a better tank (my 75 + new lights, glass top, and plants)
