i am looking to upgrade my lights on my 29 gal (30") tank for better light for my plants and get better color out of my fish

also need lights for my 55gal - no plants just to light the fish up -

i want them to look real nice - also they have perfecto tops on them but i think i will go with lights that hang over the top and a clear acrylic canop to keep water fishes in - let me know what you recomend - thanks

i was hopeing for a better look than shop lights - if i went with AHS for the 48" tank what lights would you recomend - also what bulb will i want in the 30" hood with the 2X55 lights

... get better color out of my fish ...

timinny:

When I replaced the T5 VHO lighting system (which "came with my aquarium" and the bulbs of which were affixed to the top of the canopy [10000K bulbs]) I purchased two PC fixtures with 2 bulbs per each.

I initially employed two 7100K (blue) and two 10000K (white) lights.

The coloration exhibited by the fish was astounding compared to the white lights in the T5 VHO fixture.

I found it necessary to remove one of the 7100K bulbs and replace it with a 10000K bulb due to the health and growth of my plants.
The coloration exhibited by the fish was still superior compared to the white lights in the T5 VHO fixture.
