While I find it hard to believe hurricanes can be "controlled, or steered" by man-made devices, this article suggests something strange is going on.

And the powerful HAARP antenna array is still surrounded with secrecy...

Link: http://www.livescience.com/forcesofnature/060110_hurricane_lightning.html

... ...it's tempting to think that, because Emily, Rita and Katrina were all exceptionally powerful, their sheer violence somehow explains their lightning. But Blakeslee says that this explanation is too simple. "Other storms have been equally intense and did not produce much lightning," he says. "There must be something else at work."

On HAARP:
" Put simply, the apparatus for HAARP is a reversal of a radio telescope; antenna send out signals instead of receiving. HAARP is the test run for a super-powerful radiowave-beaming technology that lifts areas of the ionosphere by focusing a beam and heating those areas. Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto earth and penetrate everything -- living and dead."

This is how it works... short and simple explaination.

Well the keyword here is IONOSPHERE (which is whats tried to be influenced with HAARP) - a layer of the atmosphere WAY higher than troposphere - the layer where the earths weather (like storms) is happening.

I dont know who made the connection between HAARP and those "phenomenons" ... but its about as ridiculous as believing that tinfoil hats help against government mind control. ROTFL

I'm wearing mine now. Unfortunately I was struck by some of the HAARP lightning and now I look like what you see on the left...

The "tin foil hat" article was of course a joke topic.

I suggest some do 'homework' on HAARP before dismissing it as some college science project.

:thm:

Ok... So some don't do homework, I'll do it...

After you read the info below, you will now be enlightened on how HAARP goes way beyond "playing" with the ionosphere......

The military admits these plans:

"#replace the huge Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) submarine communication system operating in Michigan and Wisconsin with a new and more compact technology

# be used to replace the over-the-horizon radar system that was once planned for the current location of HAARP with a more flexible and accurate system

# provide a way to wipe out communications over an extremely large area, while keeping the military's own communications systems working

# provide a wide-area Earth-penetrating tomography which, if combined with the computing abilities of EMASS and Cray computers, would make it possible to verify many parts of nuclear nonproliferation and peace agreements

# be a tool for geophysical probing to find oil, gas and mineral deposits over a large area

Time to throw away the tin foil hats! ......:D

The key phrase is "earth penetrating tomography. It's a matter of where the antennas beam is focused.

Well i have been following the progress of the HAARP project for aslong as there are publications available on it - does this count towards homework ? ;)

I find it incredibly interesting. I do NOT claim to know every detail about the project nor am i convinced there are no dangers (arent there always) BUT this page is one of the biggest collections of nonsense i have come across in a while. It gave me some great laughs though - thanks for that.

So now may i suggest you do a little homework on the "honourable" Mr. Begich? To make it easier i'll include a quote at the end of this post.

I'd also like to quote an interesting paragraph from the page you provided:

While we realize that many people will not be able to construct these devices themselves we looked into the possibility of producing them. Dr. Flanagan has designed two systems. One for personal use has been designed which can be kept close to your body and kept with you throughout the day. The device does not have any physical effect on the user it only serves to dissipate radiations which would otherwise have a negative physical effect. This device is about the size of a cassette tape. A second device has been designed for use in the home. This device is intended to remain in the house or work location in a fixed position. Both of these devices will be made available in the next several months. The cost of the home unit will be about $300. The cost of the personal unit will be about $100.

Oh what a hoot. I might just hook that device up to my tinfoil hat and kill 2 birds with one stone. rotfl
Any persons common sense SHOULD kick in when a phony tries to sell you a piece of copper wire, transistor and 2 resistors to keep the "evil E-L-F elves" from "locking" onto your body for several $100. :thud:

Please dont see this as personal attack. But fairy tales concocted by a phony "Dr." shouldnt be allowed to passed onto the general, often uneducated public as scientific facts. Its a disgrace to every real doctor and scientist out there.

Information about Mr. Begich below:

The guy ("Dr. Begich") is a phony. Thats what i call him - others would call him worse.

He is not a physicist, he is not an electricial engineer, and he has no scientific basis for making his claims; his "doctorate" is an honorary degree--"Dr. Begich received his doctorate in traditional medicine from The Open International University for Complementary Medicines in November 1994."

The Open Internation University for Complementary Medicines (in Sri Lanka) offers the following diplomas, $350.00 US each:

Reiki Healing, Medical Astrology, Magnetotherapy, Bach Flower (??), Indo Allopathy, Aromatherapy, Naturapathy (sic), Radiesthesia & Radionics, and of course Yoga & Massage.

To get a Doctor of Sciences degree:

"Eligibility:
Those persons who have passed any degree course from an authentic institution. OR Those persons who have completed the M.B.B.S., D.M.S., D.H.M.S., B.A.M.S., B.U.M.S. etc."

OR

"Practitioners/Research Workers who are practising for the last 10 years. Minimum basic qualification is exempted."

"Requirement for the Award: The candidate has to submit an original & authentic research work (thesis) of at least 300 pages (on full scape paper) in any branch of alternative medicine under the guidance of a competent person or institution after obtaining the prior approval of this institute."

"Total Fees : The total fees is U.S.$950. Full fees should be sent with the Form."

Isn't that a hoot? Hey, that is a CHEAP doctorate! But "Dr." Begich's degree was an honorary one, so one assumes that the fee and the 300-page dissertation were waived. Hehe!

Here's a link to the University's homepage.

I don't know Mr. Beight (sp?)...

Is what you are saying is the 'military admissions' about HAARP completely untrue? Those uses of HAARP came from not only one website, but others mentioned the "real" potential harm of this antenna array.
If you choose to believe only the ionosphere is being 'played with', that's ok with me.

All I'm trying to do is point out some interesting subjects that I'm sure some may find interesting.

If the HAARP array can be proven to be harmless, then I'd like to see that proof. :thm:

Seems like a "Website of Phonies" might be another topic for the Mr. Bieght issue...
