Lights and Fish

Everytime I turn on my aquarium light, my fish will go to the bottom of the tank and hide. They won't swim unless its turned off even when they have time to adjust. Is this normal? The light is 14watts.

On what size tank? Which fish do you have?

lol yeah, when I walk up to the tank, the cherry barbs come running to say hi.

Our fish go right to the top, sounds like yours are getting spooked, how long before they are swimming normally ?...

get some hiding places maybe then they will feel safe. without more its hard to say.

I have the opposite happen. when I turn the light off on my tetra tank, they all freak out! lol
