Maybe but, I'd put them pretty high. There are a couple of species of shrooms out there some really don't need much light. If they don't get enough they'll ballon up and reach for the lights. That's a good sign that it's time to upgrade. You might also consider yuma's they don't need a lot of light either and have some pretty fab colors. I don't nkow how well they'll do with the angel though.
Figured I would have to place them close...I have 2 reds and 1 green, possibly 3 greens..2 on a frag are small and i cant tell(just got em). Wondering if i could use a triple flourescent. That would get me up to 90 watts...Guess if not time to upgrade to T-5 HO
I put in shrooms under just T8 lights at only 1 watt per gallon and you could tell they needed more light, I have now stuck in 55watts of T5's in making it over 2 watts per gallon and they are doing great and they are at the bottom of the tank.
On a side note, what would grow good under something like that, my tank is only 12in deep? Just polyps and mushrooms or can some soft coral grow well too?
Two 65 watt PC lamps over a 20 long will allow you to keep all but the most demanding corals. Soft corals, large-polyped stony corals, even some of the hardier small-polyped stonies like montipora and pavona.
