I posted this in another thread, but decided to break it out as it was a bit off topic.

I just installed my new lamp fixture (2) 10000k lamps, (2)7500k lamps, and some moon lights... each having independent power.

How should I set this up on a timer? I assume the 7500k will come on about an hour before the 10000ks and go off an hour later, then the moon lights come on in the same fashion... but what I am not sure of is do the 7500ks go off when the 10000ks come on or do they stay on?

<BUMP>

Right now I have them set up as follows ...

10:00 - 7500k ON
14:00 - 10000k ON
17:00 - 10000k OFF
20:55 - Moon lights ON
21:00 - 7500k OFF

Most resources I read said planted tanks should get 10-12 hours a day so I gave them 11 ... with 3 in the middle being really intense (both sets are on.)

If anyone has any comments to add I would love to hear them.

Wattage of bulbs? 54x4 (216) 2.88wpg
Tank Size? 75g
Plant density? not very dense yet - just planted.
C02? Not yet, but researching it ...
Ferts.? Will be using seachem excel to start ...

I consider all of these.
If it's a high tech. 75 gal. w/260 watts. It looks good.

......

excel is just a liquid type of carbon not as good as gas. i would look into dry ferts later on. if you just planted i would have one half on 6 hours a day and the other on 6 hours a day with 2 hours with them both on at once. depending on what plants you have. this way the new tank isnt getting too much light you get a chance to get everything figured out before you get a tank of algae.

What's the order of the bulbs from rear to front? Length?
What type of lighting?
Is this a fixture (s) or mounted under a canopy?

Its a 48" fixture - T5 - on legs atop of glass ... not mounted to canopy. I have the lamps staggered back to front 7500, 10000, 7500 10000.

Also I know that excel is not a replacement for Co2 - I just picked some up to get me by until I get a Co2 system put together.
