Lights?

I would steer clear of the Odyssea brand lights... I have heard alot of stories about them having heat issues that lead to fire issues. But then again there are some that swear by them and have not had any problems...just do some research on them before you buy.
 
I contacted a sight that sells odyssea (www.aquatraders.com) regarding the things I have heard about their lights. This was the retailers response

"Thank you for your comment and we have forwarded your message to the manufacturer.
At this point, we can say that the lighting made by Odyssea is getting stable comparing to our past experience. Since we just starting selling the latest version of lighting from Odyssea, result can be seen in a few months." -12/1/06

I never did contact the manufacturer directly but I don't believe they are UL listed (I have mixed feelings on UL but that is for another thread).

Not sure if the retailers words ease any concerns...

Thanks for doing that! It does help to hear that, but not completely!
I think I will wait on that brand!
I've also been looking at compact flourscents and wondering what would happen ( if anything ) if I used those? Does anyone have any experience with that? I also read about LED lighting....????? I'm going to loose my mind over this stupid lighting issue....cause I'm really too poor to own this aquarium! hahahah Please don't offer to buy it...cause I'm KEEPIN' IT! hahahah
