hey every one im new here and this is my first post lol
This will be my first serious planted tank. its going to be low tech 29gal (DIY CO2 and just over 2wpg and ferts) insted of going out and buying a hood with a 65watt light if i did a DIY lighting system, i found one that i like, heres the link

the 65watt light i was going to buy is by coalife and is 6700k
would the lights used in the DIY link be ok for plants as in the kelvin rating?
and how many wpg gould i go up to befor i have to use presurized CO2?

The diy lighting works great on a planted tank. Though its hard to find the screw in bulbs in the 6700K rating. Most ive seen here are 5000-5500K. But they still work great. (used them on both of my tanks)
It does not matter what wpg you go to, you can still use diy co2 without a problem. Just be on top of changing the mix.

Ouch. It's better to find an online vendor that will offer quantity discounts. I've seen them labeled at about $2 depending on the amount.

For now, I'll stick to the 5500K bulbs...I see no reason to replace them. So far, the only complaints I've heard about 5500K from people on here is the imaginary yellow light that I've yet to see. The plants have no complaints so neither do I.

I've found online vendors, but they usually carry whatever bulb says "6500K 26W" on it. I've had problems with them burning out quickly. I know I'm buying quality with GE

When I only need 4 bulbs, $8-10 shipping + a week's wait -- $4 a bulb is just fine with me.
