Lilly pipes in planted aquariums?

Was wondering if a lilly pipe outflow has been used by anyone with planted tanks. I was told by a gentleman I met today at the Fish Place in houston that a lilly pipe does a great job of keeping water aerated with O2 without gassing off CO2. He showed me a gorgeous tank with hairgrass in it that was using the lilly pipe.

so I am considering replacing my eheim spray bar with a lilly outflow pipe.

So, if this is something to pursue, what size lilly pipe outflow would I want to replace my eheim spray bar with?

Lily Pipes were made popular by Amano himself. I dont thing they would really fit in on any other tank.

Though 247Plants is right they are popular with ADA tanks but many are using them on regular tanks and some even went ahead and tried to make their own.
