"Dinosaur eels" (senegal bichirs) are neither dinosaurs nor eels, and a 10g gallon tank is far too small to keep them in. This is a more pressing issue than lime accumulation.

They're rather placid as well...the idea that they'd jump out of a tank to attack a human being certainly sounds more like fishfiction than fishlore to me.

I know that Dinosaur eels are bichirs. The only reason I have them in a ten gallon tank is because my 20 is being used at the moment and I haven't gotten my 80 gallon in yet. Maybe I need to post a video of my Dinosaur eels jumping up to attack anyone that is close to or above the tank. They also attacked a fish that was double their size and killed it. They are not suppose to attack any fish that are large then they are mine was a lot larger then they.

I live in one of those green Ultra Hard Water Areas. I always thought my water was rather soft because it always tested a kH between 3 and 4 but I do get lime deposits in my kettle ... Never tested the gH but I would assume it is high.

:OT: Really? Why do they do that? I've never heard of a forum that did that.

I assume it is because people tend to view their post counts as a status symbol. Maybe it makes them feel more senior since they have 1000 posts instead of maybe 200. I don't know. People might have spammed the general forum in an attempt to raise their post counts so the admins turned that off. This is all speculative. I have read people being debunked on what they said because they only have 10 posts and that is the reason I came to this conclusion.
