Well, a club member is moving. I was able to get a bunch of fry from his platy tank. I have one fry that is developing stripes. I asked, and it appears he had tiger limias in that tank too.
The fry in question is shaped exactly like a platy, and is a dull drab cream color(like the other fry) but does not have the black fins the others have. It DOES have black/dark gray stripes.

I keep platies, hence my taking the fry. I had also purchased tiger limias a month ago(no fry from them yet) from someone who belongs to a different club I am a member of. So I have no idea if fry are platy snapped until sexual maturity.

Does anyone know if such a hybrid is possible? I cannot find any references anywhere that these 2 species have crossed before.

I am guessing if it is a hybrid, it is sterile. I know I'll find out for sure in a few months, but the curiosity is really getting to me now. I've been researching for a week now.

I've found anecdotal evidence of a Limia genus cross being crossed with a molly, but since mollys and platies are not generally viable I would think that you just have a regular Limia that snuck in.

Limia hybrid?

I'm hoping the pic shows up. See what you all think.

It may be. Thanks. I was not able to locate fry pics. Very helpful.
