lionfish

Hmmm. Sounds like I might need to go fo the 70gal. Then maybe I can put a puffer and a angle in it too.

Hey Dan is that picture you have up your p.radiata? Thats looks like the kind of lionfish I want. To be honest I did not know there were so many kinds of lionfish.

Dan's avatar is a Radiata. Here are some more pictures from a google search:

Hey guys haven't been around in a long time but saw this post on lions and figured would pop in. The P. Volitan Lion will get WAY too large for a 70g. These fish get to be 15", picture a basketball with fins floating in your tank and that is what these guys look like when adult. IMHO they need a 125g bare minimum. I just recently purchased a P. volitan baby (is maybe 2.5 inches) and is currently living in a 55g, but am resetting up the 209g which will be its forever home. P. radiata would be a much better choice as would the Dwarfs. P. radiata or P. antennata, and D. zebra would be good choices, all maturing in the 6-9 inch range. Anyway, hope this helps and good luck.

Hi there the picture is not of my radiata but it is of a p.radiata. unfotunatly both of those pictures appearto be of juvaniles mine must be about 5" now, buit i've never come accorss pictures of an adult.

AWWW MAN this changes everything I had planned. Are you sure? Are there any lionfish you would suggest for a 55gal. with a puffer. Not the dwarfs. The pretty ones.
