I've been trying to think of ways to simplify upkeep on my tanks. I've finally started buying my dechlorinator, liquid ferts, etc. in bulk amounts in an effort to cut down on costs, but lugging the huge containers around, trying to fill caps & teaspoons is a real pain. I realize I could always just buy basic small plastic containers and pour from them instead, but I'd like to take it a step further.

One idea I've been tossing around, is finding a dispenser for liquid, that would be a small bottle, reasonably priced, and would work like a standard push down top soap dispenser, but dispense an even amount per squirt, say 10ml per squirt. I'd like to get several of these, each dedicated to the individual fluid that they would be used for, without spending much money. I'm sure they exist, I just don't quite know what to search for, or how accurate the measurements would be on cheaper bottles.

Anyone have ideas on where I would find such a thing?

*Woohoo! Just noticed this is my 100th post! Today I am a man.*

Hi
Noted you got lots of answers .lol You can get a gazillion different dispenser bottles from the dollar store . A little experimenting should show an average .?? Would think they would be fairly consistant. but if not you've lost a buck lol. Wouldn't be auto of course.
I'm trying to come up with a way to dispense dechlor for an auto water changer. In the past I've used the bottles that dispense cleaners for toilets working off surface disturbance. Worked, but tended to overdose particularly since the change is less than 2 gallons . Probably don't even need that in a 125 tank but since the changes will average 15 gallons a day and my water is loaded with chlorine even ammonium lol.
A pump dispenser sounds like a good idea but how to activate it?? gary

There are dispensing bottles from GLA that would allow you to accurately dispense 5mL, 15mL, and 30mL of the ferts/dechlorinator. They come in 16oz and 32oz bottles.

I was actually just looking at those the other day, thinking they should work well for me.

Now I just need to find them on the cheap!

Depends on your budget, but an IV dosing pump is what you're looking for. Can be programed for the precise amount and time. Not seen anyone use them in FW, but I know a few people who use them for their SW setups.

These are what I used to dose 2 part Calcium and Alkalinity in SW and there's no reason why they wouldn't do an equally good job w/ ferts. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/store...ems/drew-s-doser-peristaltic-dosing-pump.html. A little pricey but dead simple to automate with.
