I have a 29 gl. saltwater aquarium that i have had for about 4 years. I have about 25 pounds of live rock(half fuji and half regular live rock). I am using a coralife 50/50 bulb and have had great results with it. My fish include a Kole Tang (i have had for 3 years), Clown fish (3 years old), 6 line rass (had about a month, coral banded shrimp, emerald crab, 2 hermet crabs, and lots of random snails that have popped out of nowhere. I add supplements every week and i just recently started using liquid life aqua plankton. My question is how good does this stuff really work? I used some other refrigerated plankton in the past with great results, but ive heard this stuff is even better. I havent seen any results yet and its been about 2 weeks. When should I start seeing results? I am also considering going reef sometime in the future with some power compact lights. I change my bulbs twice a year and keep the glass the light sits on clean. I do my water changes about every 6 weeks and i use reverse osmosis filtered water. any tips would be appreciated. thanks

water changes every 6 weeks is way to long for a reef tank. i do 10% every week with my reef and about 5 with my fish only.
that kole tang belongs in a much bigger tank than a 29 also.
id say dont use any phyto. your fish cant eat it. unless you have filterfeeders such as feather dusters, christmas tree worms, cocoa worms, clams and other bivalves, or corals such as a chili coral it does absolutly nothing but rot and add to your bio load. corals such as frogspawns, mushrooms, zoos, ect cannot injest phyto. they should be fed finely chopped pieces of raw meaty seafood such as krill squid, ect. but if you have the proper lighting, is unecessary.
if you have things that need to be fed, id use DTs phytoplankton.
you also wont need to add suppliments if you do frequent water changes.
