I am sad to say haven't heard of half of these!! I used to be hip!

How about

Heart
Bad Company
The Doors
Indigo Girls
Ani Difranco
Pink
Dixie Chicks

Kind of a weird list

Nope I haven't seen it, but I haven't sat down and watched the whole pink floyd movie either. Just ain't much of a movie goer. Although I do have Skynyrds movie on vhs somewhere around here. :)

I've listened to alot of the first 9, except Megadeath. If I would have thought of Rush, they woulda been on my list. Absolutely one of my favs, mainly the older stuff.

Heard of the last two, but couldn't name a song by either.
And yea, I really like some of Metallica.

It is hard to sit still for the whole Pink Floyd movie or the Led Zeppelin movie. Here is a clip from Spinal Tap -

Currently....

1. Rush (always)
2. Porcupine Tree (new album 9-14!)
3. Umphrey's McGee (insane live)
4. Peter Gabriel (genius)
5. Tool (who's doing it better?)
6. Zero 7 (chill-ax music)
7. Bjork (frenetic)
8. Opeth (when i'm feeling low on energy)
9. The Mars Volta (space-out!)
10. The Beatles (because...)

The list changes monthly, but some of them are stalwarts. Particularly the prog stuff...

- Sonic Youth
- Beatles
- Joy Division
- Radiohead
- Nine Inch Nails
- U2 (earlier stuff...)

pretty much covers a wide spectrum of what I like to listen to. Also like listening to lots of classic rock, blues, some electronic music, 80's retro...

Dang, I'm way out of the loop....I've not heard of 80% of these bands.

I'm stuck in 70's-80's.

Neil Young
Richard Thompson (playing right now)
Bad Company/Paul Rogers
Little Feat
Jethro Tull
Cowboy Junkies
Blues Traveler
John Hiatt
Bonnie Raitt
Eric Clapton

I've seem most of these folks live.
