Hi
I seem to have lots of tiny little creatures in my tank, which look like tiny bubbles until you see they are darting round the tank!!! any ideas on what they are and are they harmful?? can I get rid of them?? My tank is freshwater, and fully cycled but I am about to start slowly making it brackish for my F8 puffer, might that get rid of them?
Thanks for any suggestions
Sue

Are there fish in the tank now, or are you cycling it before getting the puffer? Marine salt may kill off the little critters. Not sure if they're harmful or not - any way you can post a picture or detailed description of their shape?

SamXXXkiss - I noticed you're having trouble posting this question :)
The best thing to do is start a NEW thread - don't reply to another post, go into the Freshwater Newbie forum and start a whole new topic. That way, people will see and respond to your question.

The tank is fully cycled and already has the puffer in it ,These little creatures are minute!! barely the size of a dot ,possibly some kind of tiny water flea?? I feed the fish on live brine shrimp as well as other more crunchy goodies and I am wondering if they have come from them, although I always never introduce any of the water that they come in to the tank ! I will do a big water change and start introducing my brackish water and hope for the best.
Thanks
Sue

oops just realised the first post was under my sons password, hope that does cause any confusion!! |The original post was sent by me

They are probably aliens from the planet Saturn. Attempting to take over your fish. So they can eat your brain.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

What's the name of that arthropod that sometimes gets into aquariums again?

Well, it might be that arthropod and if so, it'll be fish food in no time. =)
