Our office's yellow lab got herself in trouble for not using protection and ended up a teen pregnancy. The horrors! Volunteered a just-unoccupied 10g as a nursery tank, and now I have about 2 dozen little guys swimming all over the place.

Just checking to see how long the little buggers take to grow out, eventurally they'll be moved back into the 120g, but I think I'm keeping 3 of them.
 
dont know how big they wil get or how long it takes cause i know alost nothing on africans, but i can say congrats on the fry.

I go to i think its called fishprofiles.com and find alot of info with pics.I have 2 the same as yours,But im still not sure .Socolfi looks alot like it.But my white one has red eyes,not sure that makes a difference.Goodluck, let me know if you find anything..
 
Lots of factors can affect fish growth.

Fish growth in aquariums is primarily determined by fish abundance (stocking levels) as well as food quantity and quality.

Environmental factors such as temperature, water quality (parameters) and water changes, diseases, and competition can also be taken in consederation but have less direct impact.

Finally, genetic background comes into play.

The most important things to remember are:

Do not overcrowd your fry tank,
Keep good water parameters,
Feed regularly appropriate and diverse foods,
Change water often.

Thanks for reply,So the red eyes doesnt actually mean its not what i think....They arent mean,very sweet.run fast lol.Also have an orange one the same thing. Thanks
 
My Labidochromis chisumulae (cousin to the yellow lab) had fry about 5 weeks ago. I kept them in a 10 gallon with sponge filter, a plant and a couple rocks since they feel secure with hiding places. Did water changes every second day or so, fed them 3-4 small meals a day. If you crush the flakes that the adults get the fry will eat it. I gave my fry baby brine shrimp once a day. I just moved the fry into the tank that the parents are in since there is alot of hiding places for them and the other fish are not really a threat to them. They are doing great in there. Enjoy the babies, they grow up fast.:)

Thank you,Ive found everyone but anything with red eyes,Ill try to catch a pic of the 2 and let you see it..REALLY pretty.Sometimes one little detail can cause you to misfigure what kind of fish you have.since these came from w-mart kind of figured it was hopeless! Thanks a bunch!!
