don't overfeed and clean your gravel religiously. check your filter for egg sacs weekly and remove them. not having anything to eat will keep their numbers low. however, if they do get out of control, your only option is to kill them in some way (smushing, freezing, feeding to other fish) because they should not ever be released outside.
