if you have live plants in a tank, does this mean that you have to do less water changes

i do once a week 30 percent

I have a ten gallon and use a Seachem setup, and I do 5% water changes every sunday.

Before I had a heavily planted tank I would reach 30ppm on Nitrates before a water change. Now, I only have about 10ppm.

so does that mean you dont have to then as much

I currently have a 45 gallon heavily, I mean heavily, planted tank, which is also heavily stocked. I run 2 Fluval 305s, pressurized Co2 - 25ppm, and dose daily with ferts. Plants and fish are all very healthy, and (to answer your question) I change the water twice a week - Sunday and Wednesday - just like clockwork. I suppose I could do it less, but I have a hell of a nice yard too (lol). Elbow grease is great for an aquarium!!
