as some of u know i decided not to add anything else to my 10g. i may actually take one danios that acts funny back to petco. that'll make it 5 not 6/2 cherry barbs and mt 2 bamboo shrimp. well everything i ahve in there is plastic execpt for one rock. I wanted to redo the 10g with a small cave, big enough for the danios and shrimp to go in and out of, but small enough to leave open space for swimming. and awound the corners and back add a few live plants. Make the tank look natural. U think i should do this or leave the tank lightly planted to give more swimming space. and if i do add live plants, anyoen ahve names for some that are easy to take care of , and wont over crowd my tank??? any suggests about the new setup is welcome. Thanks :duh:

I really like the look of floating water sprite and it grows easily. I would suggest small swords, hornwort, java moss, java fern, anachris, or money wort. They're all easy to care for if you give them enough light. If you have a incandesant hood you can buy some spiral flourescant bulbs. Phillips makes a 15w "daylight" bulb or you can order 20w compact flourescant from Big Al's. I'd also suggest you get some Flourish Excell (carbon supplement) and some Flourish (trace nutrients) to really kick start a ew of them growing.

As for plant maintainance, just cut the stem plants (hornwort and anachris) down to the size you want. Java moss and water sprite (very brittle! handle with care or you can break the stems) you can just pull clumps off and throw away or into another tank.

i think im going to have to get over my fear of new things 1st so far for the back i like the swords, and anacharis, the myrio-green looked good for my breeding danios, the potiential fry could hide in it. and the ruffle plant, thats acouple i may chose for the background, and the for the mid ground i have cryptocoryne, low growing spread out plant. Nothing for the forground.
