Live Rock and Sand

$125 for 40 lbs of rock $40 for the sand
Why not the sand?

About $3 a pound for live rock is good. But I'd still want to see it before I'd buy it. I'd start looking at what reef pests like aiptasia anemones are so you can identify them. You could have stumbled upon a great deal and they are pest free, with lots of coraline and other life and possibly very porous with lots of surface area.

Or they could be live but not visibly so to the naked eye and full of aiptasias, etc.

Do they have a photo?

On the sand, I agree with NYC, too much potential to be bringing in nitrates and other stuff you don't want. In fact, I made the mistake of using the substrate in my used system. HUGE mistake as I believe it may have introduced some of the aiptasias I later found.

i would talk him /her lower for the rock there
try 2/per lb lol
anyone tearing down their tank just wanst to move it fast ,as you can get rock at 399lb id haggel lower to 2lb
But im cheap lol
good luck

i agree... just buy the live rock..
if you buy the live sand.... you need to waste it with water... so it become less nitrate factory.... but then... the live sand become the dead sand.... and need around 1-3 month to make it a life....
