Two pieces of live rock are starting to be coated in white. Anybody have any clues?

All my parameters seem fine (ph 8.3, sg .22 ammonia and nitrites 0 and nitrates trace).

I have that happen it seems to come and go depending on where the worms are feeding.
Just my theory with nighttime viewing

Thanks guys. While I love the learning process I wish I already knew more so I didn't "freak" - I thought all the LR was going to just die.

what kind of lighting do you have? sometimes when you put a piece of LR in your tank under a strong light the coralline can bleach out, especially if it was previously kept under lower intensity light. i had a piece that did that some, but the coralline that likes the light is starting to take over, and it's nicer looking now than when i bought it.

I haven't changed my lighting, nor hours. I have 10,000K day and I forget the other (I will go look at the old box later - bad at this) and I keep the lunar on at night.

I have peices of rock that had lovely purple but then started turning white. I then discovered it was crabs scraping the coraline off the rock
