Live rock in freshwater

:iagree:

An ammonia spike waiting to happen.

Which could be a GOOD thing if you want to fishless cycle.

I've converted live rock to african cichlid home. Used the junk on the rocks to cycle the tank and my yellow labs picked it clean within a few weeks of being in the tank. Took a few massive water changes to keep the nitrates down but once it all settled down, it was great. The rocks helped buffer my water to a nice level for the fish too. Good stuff. :headbang2:
