Recently, a relative helped me convert my freshwater tank to saltwater. He used live sand, and live rock to get it going.
When he sent me for the live rock, he specifically sent me to a lfs that had just gotten in some new live rock. This rock was NOT cured, but had lots of coraline (spell?) purple, and whitish colors (very pretty). At this time, there are no fish in the tank.
The guy at the lfs kept asking me WHY I was so adamant about buying the "new" live rock, and not the rock that's been there for who knows how long.
Why did my Uncle ask me to get the "new" rock, and not the cured rock?
