Live Rock - reusable?

I adopted a 65 FOWLR months ago, but I didnt have room or the want for it. I donated the fish to a good pet store near me and put the rock into a large plastic tub, the rock is now bone dry.

The question: A friend of mine wants it, but is it safe to use, as long as its treated like a new stone, ie. boiling it and/or bleaching it?

rinse it off throughly IMO but im prob not right just have someone else help you just want to get all the dead organic waste off it.

I dont see any need to boil it, just give it a good scrub, and sell it at base rock price...

Oh, I aint selling, giving it away, since I didnt pay a dime for it.

But thanks for the tips, thats the plan, using it for a base and adding some fresh live rock to it.
