live rock

I meant the coral rock, I will leave the denitrate rocks out for now. Plus think they are old.
The coral rock I am just going to dose with fresh water and put in the tank.

Never put uncured rock in an established tank. The tank might cycle all over again. That's bad for the fish. Get a separate container with the new rock in it with a powerhead for circulation. Wait one week, then do a partial water change. Then take a small piece of cured live rock out of your established tank and put it in with the new rock. It's gonna take some time,so don't rush it.

Uncured? I thought the question was regarding dead coral rocks? They appear to be dried and totally barren so there isn't going to be any die off to start a cycle. I believe they just need a good scrub and wash (with freshwater, no soap) before they are placed in.

It depends... sometimes dry rock can still have things way deep down in side of them rotting which can cause a bit of a mini-cycle. Doesnt happen all of the time, but it is a possibility. I would probably "cure" them for about a week in a barrel of warm salt water while scrubbing a little bit too. If no ammonia shows up in that week of "curing" then they are ready to be put into the tank... if any ammonia does show up, they need to be fully cured IMO.

I guess the deciding factor is how long the rock has been out of water. I wouldn't worry about it if its more than 3 months.

Yea, I think it has been a couple years. I just deeped them in some freshwater and put them in the tank

I'm with Gangsta on this. That would be the best thing. Otherwise at the very least I'd let them sit in brine for a day or 3. That way anything that may have contaminated them will have an opportunity to come out without some nefarious result.
