Live Sand

Hi. I am new to Brackish water tanks. I keep saltwater and I recently bought a few bags of live sand for a 55 saltwater set up. My husband and I have discussed doing the 55 as a brackish water set up instead. Can I still use the Live Sand I have for a Brackish water set up?

You can, but it will probably defeat the purpose of buying live sand in the first place, becuase the decrease salinity will probably kill of most of the life in it.

Thanks. I guess I didn't even think of that. That's why I try to do all of my research "before" actually getting into something. I can always go out and get the other type of sand I have been reading about and return the Live Sand I have. I haven't opened it yet so the pet store should take if back OK. Thanks again. :0)
