Hey everyone............I know I've had numerous threads about what fish to put in my tank, but I'm still confused on my loaches. I want 4-5 loaches for my 60 gallon tank when I get it, and they will be with 8 Cory Cats. I don't think I'll be getting any more Corys so that I can have maybe 5 loaches.

I'm just confused on whether to get:

Clowns
YoYos
Zebras
Angelicus

I really want clowns, although almost everyone has told me to eliminate the clowns because of their size. However, I have been told that they would be fine in this tank for a long time, but would eventually need upgrading in a few years. I definitley could upgrade in a few years.

I also wanted the Angelicus, but my Petsmart has them at 21.99 a piece, and I may have to buy them 1 at a time, but thats still really expensive.

So, for my tank, which one do you think would be best?

I don't want to start another war, but I think what is happening is that some are confusing the mean size with the maximum size, because as far as clown loaches go, there is often a huge difference.

I took some shots of my 10 year old clowns in my 65 that are healthy and happy after all these years- i will upload them shortly once my battery recharges.

They come right up and take food from my hand. they are as happy as can be..even if they might be a bit "stunted" lol...

well, they school together happily, they eat like pigs, they come right up to the top to take food from the surface or to my hand, they beg for food, and they are 10 years old and counting.

they show no signs of quitting yet lol.

Fish that are stressed, sickly etc. show it and they don't live a for a decade..and counting.

my oldest fish is a 15 year old rapheal cat.

but who knows? maybe the clowns can beat this ongoing record (for me).

ps one thing that everyone seems to forget is that fish in their wild habitat RARELY reach their maxium size either.

remember: in an aquarium they are fed every day and are free from predators (hopefully!).

In the wlld, they have to forage for food or capture it, and are under the constant thread from predation.

fish don't eat everyday in the wild.

its just the way nature works.

Does anyone have any pics of Zebra or Yoyo loaches from your tanks? How big does each usually get? Since I've pretty much eliminated clowns, I'm trying to decide between the other 3. Maybe my Petsmart had some and I was just looking at the clowns and angelicus so much I skipped them....sigh. decisions decisions!!!!!

There is no confusion. The mean size is 12+ inches.
