Loach Discussion for my 60 gallon tank

i think 8 cories and 4-5 loaches seems like a lot of fish on the bottom level of the tank. make sure you have more than enough hiding spots for everyone. if they start fighting, you'll have to get rid of one kind or the other.

I'm partial to yo-yo loaches. I've got 5 in my 65 along with 4 spotted cories. They are full of personality, they are voracious eaters, playful and they enjoy each others company. They're very hardy also. I had one yoyo get a pretty nasty parasite infection courtesy of infected frozen food. I seriously thought I was going to lose him. In fact, I considered human euthanization but thought I'd at least try to help him first.
He survived 2 salt water baths and 2 weeks of anti-parasite treatment. His recovery was a bit slow. For about 1 month after I returned him to the tank, he hid and wasn't much for eating.
He's since come around and is back to his old antics and eating with gusto.

Does anyone have any pics of Zebra or Yoyo loaches from your tanks? How big does each usually get? Since I've pretty much eliminated clowns, I'm trying to decide between the other 3. Maybe my Petsmart had some and I was just looking at the clowns and angelicus so much I skipped them....sigh. decisions decisions!!!!!

I have 4 Yoyos in my 55g, along with about 10 or so cories (haven't counted lately ;)). The Yoyos are active and playful....and so fun to watch. Mine don't come out long enough for pictures usually (got lucky yesterday with that one ^^), so I don't have any recent full body pics....but here are some that I found in my Photobucket (not good quality...).

In a 60g tank there is more than enough room for 4-5 loaches (the smaller ones, not full grown clowns) and 8 cories. I have 4 Yoyos, full grown at 4.5 inches each plus about 10 cories and there are tons of hiding spots. My tank is heavily planted though. Even in sparsely planted tanks or those with fake plants and driftwood, you can make enough hiding spots for that many fish.

Get several pieces of driftwood, lots of plants (fake or real) and maybe some rock caves and all the fish will be happy.
