Loach in the filter ...

Id try to barricade with some of the plastic mesh stuff (crafters use it to make useless knicknacks) You dont want him to get into the impeller...Maybe provide him with his own "hidey hole"...Clay pots and pvc tubes work well....

Oh Trust me, there are plenty of loach friendly hidey holes in my tank already. I've got a lot of rocks and caves and all kinds of interesting places for my loaches and fishies to play.

I shook out my filter in some old tank water yesterday while doing a water change. I also turned up the flow on that filter a bit. It wasn't at full speed before. So far, that seems to be working.

Those loaches are hilarious though. They've pretty much picked two favorite hiding places and I often catch them zipping back and forth between hideouts.

My Red Tail loves to swim against the current of my power filter...every once and a while he'll slip out of the current and fly into the filter, but he always manages to jump right back out.
