Okay so I have sort of decided on some sort of loach for my twenty gallon tall. If no loaches will fit then thats fine but I'd like to know if any would.
The only loaches I have access to are yoyo and weather (dojo). I'd love to do some weather loaches but I'm unsure about stocking. Whatever loaches I get will be the only ones in the tank. It has TONS of hiding places and crevices that loaches love.

What do you guys think? I'd love kuhli loaches but no lfs near me have any.

So, Dojo, Yoyo, or other. Sorry if I am blindly suggesting that I am putting a fish too large for my tank in it. thats why I ask you guys first.

weather loach would be pushing it. A pack of yoyo's would be fine. You'd probably be the happiest with a kuhli. same elongated body as a weather but max out at 3"

when you say a pack, how many do you mean?

i have had 6 in my 29 planted for about 3 years. There needs to be atleast 3. You will hear mixed comments about their adult size but all of mine are maxed at 3".

If you like the look of the dojo then go for some kuhlis.

Is it possible that I could do 3 dojos? I won't do it if you really think they get too large but I just need everything to be clear. The ones at the store are golden dojos. my tank has two penguin 100's if its a waste problem, but if its a size problem then i'll go with the yoyos.

Or could I do one dojo and a couple yoyos?

Dojos get to 10 inches, a 55g would be the minimum for 3. They are a cold water fish.

Yoyos get to 6 inches (I've seen them) & are tropical fish. A 55g would be minimum for a group of 5-6.

Kuhlis would be the best loach fit for your tank, there are a couple other small loaches that might do but if those are your only choices it'd be best to skip them until you can get a bigger, longer tank.

thanks guys!!

Kuhli loaches, Schisturas, hillstream loaches or Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki would be your best bet. Hillies though prefer coldwater.
