I'm thinking about setting up a new tank at home over the summer, and I found these cool "blue lobsters" which might just be cool blue crawfish or something, but either way, I really want one.

Just wondering:
What's the smallest tank size you'd consider putting one in?

I'd do more research before I got one, of course, I just want to know what the minimum tank size would be before I even start looking, cause otherwise I'd just get my hopes up, lol.

Watch out cuz they eat small fish.

I have a blue lobster (crayfish) in a 29 gal tank. I've had him for almost 8 months and he's doubled in size at least. He eats pretty much anything I put in for him, even his "brother" (I had 2 ) so far he has never bothered any of the fish I have in there, but then again they were all middle and top swimming fish and are a bit too fast for him to catch. They are a lot of fun to watch and provide great entertaiment. I've read where you can even keep them in a bucket as long as there is some kind of air circulation or a filter and pump. I plan on moving mine into a 10 gal tank of his own soon so I can use my 29 gal for some other fish. Mine gets fish food, sinking shrimp pellets, algee wafers, veggies and anything else I think he would eat. They are not too picky. His name is Elwood Blues (his brother was Jake) lol
Hope this helps you decide :)

the size tank depends on the type of blue lobster, and yes they are just crayfish, the problem is many species are labeled blue lobster some like the one i had (marmor krebs or marble cray) are a sexual so u will end up with hundreds in a couple months and the grow to a max of about 5 to 6 inches, otheres can get a foot or larger and still are called blue lobster

I have a small one in my 10g ..around 2" i but it last week it has already molted and grown. i see him going into one of my bigger tank soon. Hes real funny to watch and hes with platy and hasnt hurt a single one. :D

This "lobster" is called the electric blue crayfish.I would suggest putting it in a 40g and feed it fedder fish. Do not keep this cray with slow fish because as mentioned before they willl probably be gone by the next morning.

When they "molt" make sure to leave the empty "shell" in the tank, as they will eat it, and should, its better for than than any of the junk we can buy for em :-P
