A couple of my Corydoras Paleatus have very long dorsal fins. They came from my original 2 that do not have long fins. The dorsal is at least twice as tall as his parents. Anybody have any, or seen them before? Are they common? I will try to get pics cuz he is beautiful.

I don't know if they are common but we have had people on here selling them before. They are gorgeous! If I had room I would get some myself. Maybe you will have babies. :)

I love long finned cories! Don't have one, but they are pretty! I would think they are somewhat rare, since I have only seen them for sale once at the many LFS's I have been too, and I think they were selling for $15 or 20 each.. roughly..

Congrats! :)

Then both parents carried the longfin gene. Did you get approximately 25% Longfin and 75% Shortfin fry?
Yes they must have carried the gene. As far as % with or without its hard to get an accurate number because of 3-4 different sets of fry, and many eaten eggs.
