I've got a tip! Adding a sandbag to the trunk of a front wheel drive car in inclement weather can increase the rear wheel traction of your vehicle, rendering it less likely to spin out or skid when trying to stop. This is achieved because the sandbags balance out some of the weight of the drive train and passengers which are, more often than not, sitting forward of the vehicle's center of gravity.
