Look at the size of this alligator gar

I belive that was a new record for aligator gar all of the old giants have been hunted out! BTW fishing disgusts me WTF most people who fish are fishing for sport but throwing the fish back as long as the big fish are left to breed and you only take what your gonna use fishing is GREAT!

I both hunt and fish, have been since I was a child. I was raised with the belief that hunting or fishing for sport is not a good thing, but hunting or fishing to fill the freezers and feed the family is perfectly acceptable. It's all part of the food chain. Also I guess I might add, my fiance is a commercial fisherman, which I see nothing wrong with, he makes a good living and he supplies people around the WORLD with food, fertilizers, etc.

What do YOU see?

8 Feet 2 inches = 98 inches. .. .

Using the inch per gallon rule, I think I need to go out and get a 100 gallon tank to give a fish like this a little extra room!

ummm do I see fish or do I see flying ducks?

Put that in a pond and just wait to see the look on the racoons face when he goes to raid it,and that comes lunging out-Anne

Fishing for sport disgusts me. It has to be one of the cruelest forms of animal torture humans can legally partake in.

So the question begs.. why post that in an Aquarium forum?

It is sad to see people who don't understand animal managment condem fishing, or hunting for that matter.

Hear hear!!! Deer kill more people in the U.S. than ANY other animal. Without an organized hunting season that number would probably go WAY up. The fact of the matter is we've killed off the deers natural predators, and the patchy farm-woods-farm makeup of our countryside is more to the deers liking than the old growth forests that dominated this land before we showed up. he result is more deer now than before white man came. lastly, consider this, if we were not hunting deer they would eventually reach a population density that was too great for the environment to support. This would result in many more thousands of deer dying slow, painful, agonizing deaths over many weeks as they slowly starve to death. I'de rather take a cap in the *** than suffer through that any day.

Come on people we aren't debating the people in the photo he thought it was a cool shot. Fishing and hunting are sports and if done in moderation are a good thing.
