**LOOK** Purple Babies

Semi off-topic; What colour(s) do baby apple snails normally take on just as you can really actually see them? Mine are looking like they have black speckles, but I'm assuming that goes away as they grow up :(

awsome babies.

spewn the speckles will turn into stripes as they grow mate.

Watch out for that bichir - she might be too small right now to get the adults, but the babies are exactly the right size for snacks. She may be eating them at night when bichirs are the most active. As an adult she will attack the larger snails too.

Your babies are absolutely gorgeous. Such rich color!

Really I never expected that. I have seen her accidently grab one in an attempt to catch a shrimp and she spit it right back out and swam off. She might not be interested at her age. But truely something that I will start to watch out for. I have seen her go to the adults before and sort of nudge them on the flesh and then back off like she knew that wasn't in there for her to eat. Is this something that is going to happen or just a maybe or just one of those wait and see. O and something that just crossed my mind I have seen her eat dead ones before. You know when you see that really old and big snail that has sort of been clamed up but not dead yet and the next morning you come to check and half of the body is already out of the shell being eaten, yeah she like the flesh. Eugh, is what I am thinkin. Got to taste bad, b/c it sure smells that way.

HollyGirl you are right Dad is the Gold and Mom is the Magenta or Lite Purple whatever you want to call it. Mom was the dominating color too. I have seen maybe 3 to 5 babies that aren't purple out of the hundreds.
LOL.

FishyFawn they are all Mystery Snails or Briggs. Big ones are Mom & Dad.

BTW Thanks everybody that has called them cute. They are sweet lookin.

Hehe, my fish love the snail jello as well. I make it with bloodworms in it sometimes to cater to my cories and the betta and gourami. They all fight over it! The babies look wonderful!

And spewn, i agree with bullit, speckling is usually indicative that the snail will end up striped.
