This is my mom's Mother's Day gift. Took me untold hours to make it (and I'm a professional cabinet maker with every tool in the shop you can imagine). It's made out of Tiger Maple and Walnut. I even made the drawer pull--- from the same woods, turned on the wood lathe. Clearcoated with lacquer.

You like? These things sell routinely for $500-$700 depending on the style and who made it. I made it for less than a hundred bucks (not counting the tools I used such as table saws, etc... which numbers near the ten grand mark)

Why isn't the image hotlink working?

Oooh, nice! :thm:

Isn't inlaid the best look for any project? I mean even outside of wood.

Thanks all! Sorry, I'm 27 and married, not up for adoption. Thanks for the offer, I'm flattered. :cool2:

I love woodworking---- I should have started out building cabinets 10 years ago. Imagine what I could do then......

That is awesome!!! Too bad about the married part..I have a 23 yr old daughter...I bet you'd make your mother in law something like that if she was nice!

She's on the "list". My wife was first, built her a huge oak bookshelf for Christmas. Sweet deal, the boss bought the wood for me as a Christmas bonus (couple hundred bucks worth, in a company barely 4 months old with one employee, me!).

I have a great mother-in-law, she's a sweetheart. I was chatting with her the other day about a nice entertainment system. It would make a nice summer project.....hmmmmmm....
