I want to do a little rockwork, and I was looking for some pics for ideas on how some of you have set up your rockwork. For refernce, i want to do alittle for a south american planted tank, with mostly swords and driftwood, but thought some slate might look nice and add a spot to make some rams happy.

Take a stroll thru our Member's Photo section for some ideas.

Here are a few quick shots of my cichlid (central american) tank.
It's a modestly simple cave structure using rocks I collected myself. There's a 7" Jack Dempsey hiding in there somewhere. ;)
The plants are all artificial due to the cichlids but the design is kind of similar to what you are talking about (rockwork/driftwood/plants)

Sorry about the quality as I didn't take the time to adjust the camera properly. I just pointed and shot the pics.

Yeah, I've got some weird moss growing on the driftwood, as well. If you look closely at the driftwood on the right, you'll see strands of it growing off the wood. Here's the pic cropped and enlarged. Again, sorry about the quality.

that's great stuff. I'd love to grow that instead of algae! I have some terrestrial moss that is starting to grow a *little* below the water line, but for the most part it stays above water on the driftwood. it's closer in nature, once submerged, to java moss... but above water it is thick and carpet like.
