Looking at you

Thanks everyone! It's gonna be a long week before I can feed her and then finally do some serious handling :D

What kind of snake is that??? I know vicious said KSB but that doesnt help me out any lol. Nice snake regardless.

Shipping of live animals is very expensive. Anyone ever buy there dog out of state??? I did my dog costed $400 and shipping costed $300 lol so yeah $700 for the dog I wanted since there not common out here.

Any pics of its home??? Would be nice to see what kind of setup you have for your new addition to the family.

It's a Kenyan Sand Boa, Eryx colubrinus loveridgei :) I will get some pictures of the current enclosure up right now :D

Kenyan Sand Boa hmmmm pretty cool. How big do they get??? I would look online myself but Im doing research on something else right now.

Here's her current enclosure. It's a 10g tank (for now) with a heat pad and a heat lamp, deep aspen substrate, a small partially buried (Sand Boas are notorious for knocking over water dishes, and if not cleaned up, the extra humidity can cause respiratory infections and blister disease) a buried hide box (a half-buried tupperware container with holes cut in each side). When she gets too big, I'll put her in a big Rubbermaid crate.
First pucture is of the underground hide box and the cork wood at the entrance and the 2nd is the whole enclosure, with the lamp off.

No, but it should be enough for the snake to burrow deeply. I'm probably using a bit more than what is needed though.

Not a bad setup but I would toss out the heat lamp, snakes do not need them. The under tank heater should do you well. But I also have personal problems with Heat bulbs for snake cages, to many fires and accidents usually await them.
They are a fun species to have, I have a 2.2 of them here.

Hmmmm I wish I could own reptiles. To bad they freak out my mom.

I have been keeping reptiles for a very very long time. And my best response to teenagers is to wait a few years until you move out. Once you get your own place, then get what you like. I recommend though waiting always after college due to college life is stressful enough and its hard to care for exotic pets as it is.
