Hi, my husband and I have had our tank for 3 months and only have 3 crabs, 2 snails, 1 shrimp and 4 damsel fish. I am thinking about getting him a sea horse for Christmas. They are why he bought the tank (he loves them) and still hasn't gotten one. Does anyone know if a sea horse would be compatible with what I have now or if I can even get one? One of our LFS had some but he killed them (I think he is crazy...this summer he flooded his whole store!) He always has the best fish though.

That setup wont work for a sea horse because they require tankmates that wont be competing for food, hence often why its best to have a aquarium with ONLY sea horses, the damsels are too aggressive to add any new fish in as well (hence why its a bad idea to start with damsels)

Damsels are aggressive, yeah...but not enough where you cant add other fish. But, like Gealcath said...you wont be able to have seahorses, sorry. Not only do they have to be the only animal in the tank, but they also have to have absolutely PERFECT water conditions. Toss in a Wartskin Angler....give it 2 weeks, and you'll be rid of your damsel problem. Damsels are food...not pets.
