Looking for a tankmate

i dont know about that syno man, i would def get a bigger multi maybe even an adult he may make them a KFC snacker, you know what i would do a lelupi you may have a fight or two but with those rocks, which BTW were did you get those at, would provide a retreat for whoever is going to get punked, if you do go with the shellies i would add about 4 shells per fish ratio..

I got the tufa rock at an lfs here in town.

cool dont let my questions disturb you but i know a guy who makes that same rock what state do you live in.. because it looks like his work..

I purchased him at petsmart and I believe the label actually said synodontis long______.
I do not rely on stores to come up with true IDs. Your catfish is a Synodontis ocellifer. I've kept these cats.

cool deal i have a friend who makes that stuff here in kentucky and he does such a good job and when i seen yours i was like dude that looks just like that rock he makes, crazy aye.. later buddy..

I disagree that is a Synodontis longirostris, the tail is spotted not striped and the mouth is more shaped like the longirostris.

*To the original poster....you should look to re home the Synodontis longirostris they will get up to 2ft.

I certainly hope that's not the case. I just looked around for info on this fish and it looks like it MAY be a hybrid of some sort that is common for petsmart to stock.

On a brighter note, I'm currently looking into getting a used 55-gallon aquarium and my syno would be the first one moving in once it's ready, assuming I'm able to find a used 55 locally.
