Back in the old days I could purchase bulbs in bulk for about 1.00 each.

It was a grab bag fashion does anybody know of anyplace on line to do that now???

Plant bulbs not Lights...lol...

Thanks,
John

lightbulbsdirect.com might be a good choice.

if you're looking for regular fluorescent tubes, check home depot. I bought a 10 pack of 4' 40 watt Philips 6500K High CRI for $28.

They sell Aponogeton bulbs at wally world and the big box pet stores. I think they are like 4 for $2 or something like that.

Thanks 247 ... I did not consider Wally world...

Nola ... I will use that link for some grow lights...

Yea I have some of the Aponogeton bulbs in my 20 gallon. I purchased them from Wal-Mart. The big plant in the picture is the walmart bulb:

There was a thread about the Wallyworld bulbs a while back, some have success, some don't. The first time I bought the Apon bulbs and they all rotted. I just decided to try the Dwarf Lily bulbs and after a week one is already sprouting very well and the other two have tiny fuzzy things poking out.

I believe they were $3 ($2.97 of course) each for the 3 different types of bulbs, Apon, Dwarf Lily, and "Fern". They come in a little blister pack thingy and are "guaranteed" to grow. I'll try to find the original thread about this.

Found it:

I've bought 4 packages from PetCo. My success rate has been about 50%, sometimes more, sometimes much less. But at $4 for a package of 5-6 bulbs I've averaged about $1.50 each for the ones that do grow, and they're nice big healthy plants.
