lost somewhere in my head
Hi There,
I am looking to upgrade my camera. To give you an idea, I had bought an Olympus digital camera three years ago with 1.3 megapixels. Yeah, so I am looking to upgrade.

Here is what I am hoping to achieve with my new camera. I have a tank of Tangs that are about 2 inches. I also have a tank of dwarf blue pearl shrimp. My current camera cannot capture these guys with a clear enough picture for identification. No surprise here.

What type of qualities (megapixels, occular zoom) do I want to look for? I am looking to go digital camera, something like a Sony Cybershot to compensate for my shaky hands.

Any help would be appreciated in clearing up these terms for me. Thank you.

I am really happy with my Fuji Finepix s700 if price is a consideration. It is really inexpensive and takes great macro pictures. I tend to use a tripod whenever I can but as shakey as I am, it still takes good snapshots.

Here is an example.

That is soooo cool. And, that is exactly what I am looking for.

You are awesome. Thanks for the feedback!

You are welcome. Have fun! I love it. I just bought after market magnifying lenses and can hardly wait for them to get here!

I should ask though.. you did get the 10 mega pixels, correct?

or rather... what is the model number?

Sweet. Thank you, once again. I will have to update my tank once I get it.

How much are u willing to spend. I have never used a point and shoot digital camera so i can not really help you if that is what you want. I use my brothers Digital Cannon Rebel and my 100mm Macro Lens to take pic of my tank it dose a great job taking pic of my fish as well. I would also recommend using a tripod with what ever camera you get.
